Plane makes emergency landing

An 18-year-old Shipshewana student took off from an airport in Goshen in a small airplane but had to make an emergency landing in a LaGrange County field Monday evening.
According to a video posted on the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page, the plane’s landing caused damage to a home and a propane tank, but the scene was reported secure.
The Federal Aviation Administration was en route to the scene Monday evening.
No injuries were reported.
2 tied to burglary in Kosciusko
A Fort Wayne woman and a Leesburg man were arrested Monday in Kosciusko County, accused of being a part of a burglary.
According to a statement from Milford police, Tiffany Marie Moses, 26, of Fort Wayne, and Kyle Dewayne Knight, 20, of Leesburg, were arrested on preliminary charges of burglary.
They were arrested after officers responded to a disturbance at 111 W. Section St. in Milford just after 10:30 a.m. After police arrived, two people fled the area. Police watched what they believed was a suspect vehicle, and around noon, the two people came back.
Police tied the pair to the burglary that initiated the first call, the statement said.
