Possible chemical fire evacuates Warsaw neighborhood

The Journal Gazette

Emergency personnel were evacuating residences and businesses within 1,000 feet north and east of Warsaw Chemical late Friday morning as officials investigated a possible chemical fire at Warsaw Chemical.

Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory was on the scene, according to the city's police department. A spokeswoman said she did not know how many had been evacuated.

Roads in the area were closed and motorists were being asked to avoid the area.

The South Bend Tribune said multiple explosions had been reported about 11 a.m., but the Kosciusko County dispatch said there were no reports of injuries.

Warsaw Chemical's line of products, designed for professionals, include car wash products, according to its website.
