Vacant home gets ravaged by 7 a.m. fire

Fort Wayne firefighters put out a blaze that heavily damaged a vacant home early Thursday. 

At 7:37 a.m., crews were called to 7130 Antebellum Blvd. and found heavy smoke coming from the home, a statement from the Fort Wayne Fire Department said.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames on the first floor of the home in 15 minutes, the statement said.

No one was injured.

The home sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage. 

The statement from the fire department said the fire remains under investigation.

The Fort Wayne Police Department and TRAA assisted at the scene.
