Victim in gas line accident ID'd

The Allen County coroner’s office has identified a man killed by a gas line last week. 

Michael Elliott of Avon was killed Wednesday at the Compressed Natural Gas Station in the 2300 block of Pleasant Center Road when a compressed gas line he was working on came loose from its fitting. Elliott was struck by the escaping gas, causing injuries to his head. The cause of death is blunt-force trauma due to high pressure gas. 

The incident has been ruled an accident.

Woman believed to be hit-run victim

A woman found lying in the middle of a southeast-side street early Sunday is believed to the victim of a hit-and-run accident.

Fort Wayne police found Kimika Tolbert, 28, about 5:45 a.m. Sunday lying in the street near the 3700 block of Paulding Road at the Waterloo Gardens apartment complex.

Police reports said dispatch received multiple calls about a body in the road.

Tolbert remained in critical condition Monday, police said.
