Check out the hometown highlights

Now it's your turn.

After a busy summer hosting out-of-town visitors, the city turns its attention to the hometown crowd with Visit Fort Wayne's 21st annual Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown.  The event, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, is your opportunity to enjoy 16 of the city's top attractions and museums for free.

Take advantage of a guided tour of the beautiful Allen County Courthouse or check out the treasures in the Lincoln Collection at Allen County Public Library. The Embassy Theatre can be explored from the stage to rooftop patio, and the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory's Botanica Jones exhibit is right next door.

If you haven't had a chance to check out Promenade Park, Sunday's a good time to see it in a 20-minute guided tour. You can also check out construction progress on The Landing, where behind-the-scenes tours will be available. Parkview Field will have special tours and activities for children.
