Indiana Tech was honored by the NAIA as a Gold Level Five Star institution for the 2018-19 academic year as part of the Champions of Character program, the national office announced Tuesday.
Tech was one of 180 member institutions to garner the honor and one of 63 to earn gold status. It is the third consecutive year in which the department has earned the highest level on the Champions of Character scorecard.
Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earned points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on student-athlete grade-point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition.
The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conferencewas honored as a Five Star conference along with 10 of the 12 current member schools.
