Alex Gregorich and Jarrett Pfeiffer, who both were a part of the Indiana Tech hockey team's NAIA national title run in March, have signed with the Port Huron Prowlers of the Federal Hockey League.
Gregorich captained the Warriors as a junior and senior, totaling three goals and eight points in 23 games last season. He also played three games with the Prowlers, a Single-A team, assisting on a goal.
Pfeiffer led the Warriors in scoring with 40 points, including 18 goals, in 23 games. He then played two games, assisting on a goal, with the Quad City Storm of the Southern Professional Hockey League, a step above the FHL.
“Port Huron has a long history of professional hockey and the fans take great pride in their local team,” Gregorich said. “I can't wait for the start of the season in October.”
Prowlers coach Joe Pace said, “the fact that these two know how, and expect, to win is huge. We need to be a team that expects to win a night in and night out and know what it takes to get the job done. We got to see Grego in a couple of games last season, and we definitely like his compete level and physicality. Jarret spent a couple of games in the SPHL with Quad City and has come highly recommended from everyone we've spoken to. We're excited to get on the ice and see what both of these guys can bring to the team.”
