Despite 25 points from C.J. Wilcox, the Mad Ants lost 111-106 to the Salt Lake City Stars on Tuesday night.
It snapped Fort Wayne's winning streak at four games, one game off its longest of the season, as it failed to reach the .500 mark for the first time this season. Southwest Division-leading Salt Lake (21-7) has won four straight.
Former Indiana University star Juwan Morgan had 26 points on 12-of-20 shooting for the Stars. Former Purdue player Isaac Haas had 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Mad Ants (13-15) trailed big early – 50-36, but recovered with a 13-0 run, culminating with a Walt Lemon Jr. jump shot.
Fort Wayne later tied the game at 97 on Ben Moore's putback with 3:50 left.
A Morgan dunk put the Stars up for good at 101-99 with 3:03 left.
Wilcox made 7 of 11 shots, including 4 of 8 from 3-point range. Lemon had 21 points and 10 assists. Stephan Hicks had 21 points, making 8 of 11 shots, with seven rebounds. Moore added 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Mad Ants play host to the Canton Charge at 7 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.
